PRIMETIME KING COCO MARTIN RETURNS TO ACTION IN “FPJ’S BATANG QUIAPO”

Primetime King Coco Martin returns for more action-packed adventures in another Kapamilya teleserye inspired by Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1986 film “Batang Quiapo” that will air beginning this February 13 at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5.

After making a mark in the hearts of viewers as the hero cop Cardo Dalisay in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,”

Coco is back to give life to yet another exciting, resilient “tagapagtanggol ng bayan” character as Tanggol/Baldo in the series.

KINDEST WORDS FOR KIND COCO

At the mediacon held recently for FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, all his co-stars have nothing but the kindest words about the actor/director, who had helped and inspired them in one way or another. Kabilang dito ay sina Cherry Pie Picache, Charo Santos John Estrada at Pen Medina.

Masaya namang binalikan ni Cherry Pie ang mga panahong nagkasama sila noon ni Coco. “Nagpapasalamat ako, I feel very  blessed and I’m thankful sa anak kong si Coco, kay direk Coco. It is such an honor. Sinabi niya kanina, mahirap siyang katrabaho. Kasi masipag siya, iba ang dedication niya sa trabaho niya at sa craft niya. And I love working with those kinds.

And kita niyo naman ang mix ng artists na kasama sa Batang Quiapo, iba-iba ‘yung gift. May vloggers, may influencers…”mahabang sabi ni Cherry Pie.

At pahabol pa ng magaling na aktres.

“Ay teka may nakalimutan ako. Sinabi ko rin pala sa kanya (Coco) na ‘pag tumanda ako na gaya ni Pen, hindi talaga… sana sa mga batang artista, na henerasyon ngayon, sana merong isang Coco Martin na magbibigay halaga sa mga elder actors. Kasi kung ano ang ipinundar nila, ‘yun din ang nagbigay ng leksyon, ng inspirasyon sa aming mga batang artista.

At sana sa mga batang artista ngayon, it’s not just about social media. It’s not just about the number of followers that you have. It’s your dedication to your craft at kung paano ka makitungo sa staff, crew at sa buong community.”

Dito na rin sinabi ni Cherry Pie na maraming natulungan si Cooco na hindi na ipinapaalam.

 

BATANG QUIAPO’S POWERHOUSE CAST

 

Bukod sa mga higanteng artistang kasama sa  cast, nakakatuwang isinama rin ni Coco ang mga vloggers na napapanood niya sa social media. Si Coco rin mismlo ang personal na tumawag at nag-hand pick sa mga artista para sa karakter nila.

“Ang nasa isip ko nu’ng binuboo ko ‘tong Batang Quiapo, gusto kong kunin ang lahat ng magagaling at mahuhusay na artista sa Pilipinas. That’s it. Gusto ko silang makasama, gusto kong magsama-sama kami rito.

Gusto ko silang makatrabaho. Kaya alam ko kung sino ang masarap makasama sa trabaho.” sabi pa ni Coco.

 

Coco will be joined by a star-studded cast, including the daughter of FPJ “Da King”  na si Lovi Poe, na first time to work on an FPJ title.

In a teaser shared by ABS-CBN recently, Coco shared his excitement about giving viewers another FPJ series that’s not only filled with intense action scenes but also important life values that viewers can learn from.

“Napakalaking bagay nito na napapalabas namin ang kanyang mga pelikula na nagawa. Nakakapag-bigay kami ng napakagandang kwento at inspirasyon sa lahat ng mga Pilipino,” said Coco.

Siguradong malawak at malawig pa ang tatakbuhin ng kuwento ng Batang Quiapo. Katunayan, nabanggit din ni Coco na baka hindi lang sa Quiapo mag-concentrate ang location nila, malamang umabot din sa ibang lugar.

 

GET READY FOR ACTION PACKED BATANG QUIAPO

 

“Batang Quiapo,” which will be Coco’s first time to serve as an actor, co-director, and co-producer under CCM Film Productions, will also showcase the rich culture and beauty of the beloved town of Quiapo.

“Napaka-rich ng kultura niya, lahat ng mga buhay o kwento ng bawat taong nasa Quiapo. Napakalawak ng kwento at isa pa ito sa mga pelikulang talagang tumatak sa mga ginawa ni FPJ at ni Ms. Maricel Soriano,” Coco adds.

“Batang Quiapo” also stars Benzon Dalina, Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin, Jojit Lorenzo, Ping Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Alan Paule, Lou Veloso, Susan Africa, Pen Medina, Lito Lapid, Irma Adlawan, and Christopher de Leon. Direk Malu Sevilla will co-direct the series with Coco.
