MEET THE SICAT FAMILY

 

Rica (Charlie Dizon) comes from a loving family whose mom Kakay (Dimples Romana) works abroad to help her loving and supportive husband Dan (Miko Raval) sustain their finances.

Rica has two younger siblings whom she looks after since her mom isn’t physically around.

Being level headed and intelligent, she is unfortunately often the center of her officemates’ jealousy and nasty talk. Challenges came into their life when the supposedly fun night with her team mates became one hell of a night for Rica.

She got drunk and allegedly raped by someone she knew.

After this  traumatic night for Rica, everything changed. Her story began to unfold.

 

VIRAL POSITIVE FEEDBACKS

 

The first week run of Viral Scandal got positive feedback from televiewers and netizens. I can say that the theme is socially relevant and a lot of us can learn from it especially on how to be more responsible with our action while in public and what to do when a person violates you and your rights.

“Alam mo nu’ng last Global Mediacon tinanong kami on words to describe Viral and I said, I think this was with Jake (Cuenca). Sabi ni Jake kumbaga nananalamin siya, relevant siya in the sense that it gives us a sneak peak of what is happening in society. I think we tend to forget that while Covid is happening, this is also happening.” says Dimples during the mediacon recently.

Charlie on the other hand is proud about her role as she represents a victim yet  an empowered one. “Inembrace ko talaga ang role ko rito as Rica dahil ito ang nagre-represent sa mga babaeng inabuso pero patuloy na lumaban at nakabangon.” says Charlie about  being Rica Sicat.

Netizens also applaud Charlie and the rest of the cast for their performance on the first week.

Dimples and the rest of the cast are aware that  in the first few minutes of the show, their show became trending and left an impression with the netizens. “Rica has a way of saying things na very factual eh. Like sa paggamit ng condom, sex education. It’s raising awareness agad eh.”

And when asked about what preparation did they have to do to come up with this one of a kind show that is somehow new to the audience,

Dimples said, “Well, there has not been much preparation since this has been happening in our society.”

She also shared the importance of knowing when to share and what to share in social media.

Viral Scandal also stresses on social awareness and being responsible for oneself and others when in public.

Dimples, Jake, Charlie, Jameson and Miko also stressed the values of family, moral and social awareness that this show wants to impart to the viewers.
